The initial design was done for the cover of Marion Zimmer Bradley's "Lady of Avalon" (Translated "Secret of Avalon" in French), published by Livre de Poche. The cover was printed from a completed digital version. I used this first version as a reference to make a more personal oil version where the Roman missionaries were replaced by mystical Celtic symbols (the old one, Kernunos,...) thus evoking a certain reminiscence of the Celtic spirit through time.
